| 내용 | 디지털 비디오 정보에서 내러티브의 역할에 대한 탐색적 연구 A Exploratory Analysis on the Role of Narrative in Digital Video Information 주저자 : 박정순(Park, Jeong Soon) 천안대학교 디자인영상학부 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 논문요약 Abstract 1. 서론 2. 이론적 고찰 2-1. 의미파악 프로세스와 디지털 비디오 2-2. 내러티브와 내러티브 인텔리전스 2-3. 내러티브와 내러티브가 아닌 형태 3. 실험 1 : 내러티브에 대한 지각 3-1. 실험 재료 3-2. 실험 과정 3-3. 실험 결과 3-4. 토의 4. 실험 2 : 요점을 이해하는데 있어 내러티브의 영향 4-1. 실험 과정 4-2. 실험 결과 4-3. 토의 5. 결론 요약 내러티브는 인간의 경험과 정보를 구조화하기 위해 가장 오래되고 널리 사용되어 온 방식으로 내러티브의 본질뿐 아니라 컨텐츠의 내용을 이해하는데 있어 그 중요성에 대해 많은 연구가 이루어져왔다. 이런 연구의 중요한 결과물 중 하나가 인간이 겪은 경험을 내러티브의 형태로 맞추려고 하는 경향을 의미하는 내러티브 인텔리전스(narrative intelligence) 개념이다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 일반적으로 정보탐색과 관련하여 이루어진 것이며 그중에서 특히 정보의 이해와 관련되어 있다. 본 논문은 이와 같은 내러티브의 기본적인 개념과 원리를 바탕으로 내러티브 인텔리전스의 특성과 인간이 디지털 비디오의 내용을 이해하는 방식에 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지에 대해 논의한다. 이를 위해 내러티브의 파악과 이를 위해 사용되는 요약물(surrogates), 내러티브 인텔리전스에 대한 이론과 연구결과를 탐색하고 이를 바탕으로 두가지 실험결과를 제시한다. 첫 번째 실험은 비디오와 관련하여 내러티브의 개념을 명확히 하여 그 적용가능성을 탐색하고, 두 번째 실험에서는 내러티브가 디지털 비디오에서 정보의 탐색과 내용의 이해에 얼마나 중요한 영향을 미치는가를 살펴본다. 이런 실험의 결과는 구문으로 된 줄거리가 디지털 비디오를 색인으로 목록화하는데 어떻게 사용될 수 있는지에 대해 중요한 암시를 제공한다. Abstract Narrative is perhaps the oldest and most widely used form for organizing information and human experience, thus, it is not surprising that there is a significant body of research concerning narrative and its importance to comprehension and understanding. One important outcome of this research is the concept of narrative intelligence, the human tendency to fit experience into narrative form. This research is extremely relevant to information seeking in general and sense-making in particular. This paper outlines the basic principles and research supporting the concept of narrative intelligence and its applicability to the ways in which people make sense of digital video. We explore relevant theory and research in sense-making, surrogates, narrative, and narrative intelligence and then present the preliminary results of two research studies. The first clarifies and operationalizes the concept of narrative as it relates to video. The second demonstrates how narrativity can have significant effects on information seeking and sense-making in digital video. Results from these studies have implications for how syntactic form can be used as a means of indexing digital video. (keyword) narrative, digital media, video |
