| 내용 | 아동전문병원의 대기공간 이미지 개선을 위한 아동의 선호도 비교분석 A Comparison analysis of the Children's preference for waiting room image improvement of Children's Hospital 주저자 : 강민지 성균관대학교 디자인 사이언스 연구소 Kang Min-Jee Sungkyunkwan university 교신저자 : 이경현 성균관대학교 예술대학 디자인학과 교수 Lee, Kyoung-Hyeon Sungkyunkwan university __________________________________________________ 논문요약 최근 삶의 질이 향상됨에 따라 소비자들은 병원에서 단순 치료의 목적을 넘어, 의료 서비스의 요구도 점차 높아지고 있다. 이에 부응하기 위하여 병원들은 의료시설의 차별화, 특성화로 개성을 살려 병원 실내디자인의 변화를 시도하고 있다. 특히 아동은 어른들과 달리 병원이라는 특수성으로 인해 심리적으로 환경에 많은 자극을 받는다. 따라서 아동전문병원은 의료서비스 뿐만 아니라 병원에 대한 심리적인 불안감을 해소시키기 위하여 아동의 심리적인 측면까지 고려한 시각적 환경의 설계가 필요할 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 아동전문병원 대기공간의 이미지를 4가지의 유형으로 분류하고 분석하여 설문조사를 진행하였다. 조사 대상은 아동을 대상으로 하였지만 일반병원이 아닌 아동전문병원이라는 특별한 상황에서 아동은 일반성인과는 선호도가 어떻게 다른가를 알아보기 위하여 아동과 성인을 함께 설문 진행하였다. 또, 설문조사과정에 아동이 일상적이고 평범한 상황이 아닌 병원이라는 특수한 상황에서 심리적 안정을 위하여 일상과 다른 특정요소를 필요로 하는가를 알아보기 위하여 아동이 평소 마음의 불안감 없이 활동하는 공간인 유치원과 함께 비교분석하였다. 조사한 결과 성인의 경우 유치원에서는 팝아트 이미지를 가장 선호하고 모던한 이미지가 가장 낮게 나왔지만 병원에서는 자연적인 이미지의 선호가 상승하였으며 팝아트이미지의 선호가 가장 낮게 나왔는데 그 이유는 ‘청결하다’가 가장 높게 나타났다. 이는 어른이 아동에 비해 병원의 특성상 청결함을 중요하게 생각하고 있다는 것이다. 미취학 아동의 경우 유치원에서는 일러스트레이션과 팝아트 간에 큰 차이가 없게 선호하는 것으로 나타났고 모던이미지를 가장 낮게 선호하였지만 병원의 경우에는 일러스트레이션 이미지의 선호도가 크게 증가하였고 모던이미지를 가장 선호하지 않아 그 차이가 매우 유의미하게 나왔는데 그 이유로는 ‘편안해서’가 가장 높게 나타났다. 이 부분에서 아동이 병원이라는 특수한 상황에서 심리적으로 불안함을 느끼기 때문에 편하고 즐거운 유치원이라는 공간에 비해 심리적 안정감을 느끼기 위하여 일러스트레이션적인 이미지를 특히 선호한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 아동전문병원 대기공간의 디자인이 나아가야할 방향과 개선할 점을 제시함으로써 아동전문병원 대기공간의 디자인에 긍정적인 영향을 가져다주길 기대한다. 주제어 아동전문병원, 병원 대기공간, 병원 이미지 Abstract As the quality of life increases, consumers’ demands from the hospitals are gradually increasing beyond the treatments to the medical services. To meet this demand, the hospitals are attempting a change in interior design through emphasizing the uniqueness with differentiation and specialization of medical facilities. Children, unlike adults, especially get psychologically stimulated by the environment because of the particularity of hospital. Therefore children hospitals will need to design a visual environment not just including the medical services but also by considering the psychology of the children to alleviate the psychological anxiety. Thereupon, this essay analyzed and investigated on the images of children hospital waiting room. According to the results, adults preferred pop art images the most in kindergarten and least preferred was the modernistic images, but in the hospital, naturalistic images were the most preferred because of the cleanliness and the least preferred was the pop art images. This means adults think of the cleanliness in the hospitals characteristically important compared to the children. In case of preschool children, there were no significant difference in the preference between illustrations and pop art. Modernistic images were the least preferred but the preference of illustration images in hospital greatly increased and modernistic images were least preferred, so there seemed to be a significant difference and “comfortable” as a reason had the most number of votes. From here, we could see that the children prefer illustrative images so they can feel psychologically stable because special environment like hospitals can make them feel anxious not like comfortable and enjoyable kindergarten. Through this study, by suggesting the direction and the improvements to make on the children’s hospital waiting room, we expect it will bring positive influence to the designing of children’s hospital waiting room.
