| 내용 | 리미티드 미학의 영향을 받은 유럽 카툰 애니메이션 캐릭터의 표현방법 변화 연구 -안시 수상작을 중심으로 (1995년 - 2005년) Understanding on changes of Character representation in European Cartoon Animation influenced by Limited Aesthetics -Around awarded works of Annecy Animation Festival (1995-2005) 전주영 (Jeon, joo young) 유한대학 산업디자인학과 강사 ------------------------------------------------------------------ 논문요약Abstract 1. 서론 1-1. 연구 목적 1-2. 연구 범위 및 내용 2. 이론적 배경 2-1. 카툰 애니메이션 캐릭터의 정의와 역할 2-2. 카툰 애니메이션에 나타난 캐릭터의 표현방법 2-3. 리미티드 미학의 정의 3. 리미티드 미학에 의한 유럽 카툰애니메이션 캐 릭터의 표현 방법 연구 3-1. 카툰 애니메이션의 주인공 캐릭터 분석 3-2. 카툰 애니메이션에 나타난 캐릭터의 표현방법 3-3. 리미티드 미학의 영향을 받은 미니멀리즘적인 캐릭터의 표현 방법 4. 결론 참고문헌 요약 카툰 애니메이션이 영상산업으로 그 영향력이 점차 확대되고, 예술적 가치가 극대화되고 있는 현실에서 미학적 가치를 찾고자 한다. 현대 미술에 관심이 있으며 자유주의자였던 카툰 애니메이션 작가들은 내용과 형식 모두에서 새로운 스타일의 애니메이션을 창조하고자 리미티드 애니메이션이란 새로운 방식을 만들었다. 이 방식의 영향을 받아 작가중심으로 시작한 카툰 애니메이션 캐릭터의 표현방법은 리미티드 미학이라는 말로 대변할 수 있었다. 즉 저급한 문화라는 오명을 벗고 예술 작품으로 자리 메김 하는 첫 걸음이 되었으면 한다. 본 논문에서는 캐릭터라는 형태의 외형적 요소보다는 전체 이미지를 전달해주는 표현 방법에 대한 연구로서 이미지를 중심으로 연구하였고, 표현방법 변화의 연구를 위해서 기존 화파의 작품들과 비교하였다. 분석한 결과에 의하면 카툰 애니메이션 개최초기의 작품부터 현재까지의 수상작 유형은 모두 미니멀리즘이 강한 초현실주의를 중심으로 카툰 애니메이션 캐릭터를 표현하고 있다. 현재까지도 이러한 경향은 지속되고 있으며 이는 전달하고자하는 요소만을 간결하게 표현하는 미니멀리즘 요소와 카툰 애니메이션의 특징이 조화를 이룬 표현방법이라고 생각한다. 본 연구를 토대로 예술장르로서 예술과 기술, 철학이 어우러진 예술적 영상으로 카툰 애니메이션의 가치가 달라지면서 누구에게나 감동과 재미를 주고 작품으로서의 가치를 인정받을 수 있는 카툰 애니메이션으로 발전하게 되기를 바란다. Abstract Cartoon animation has increased its influence in the film industry and maximized artistic value. A task finding aesthetic value of cartoon animation is based on such circumstances. Liberalist cartoon animators that were interested in the modern art wanted a completely new style of animation in content form, and thus created so-called Limited animation. Cartoon animators that were influenced by Limited animation has produced characters based upon representation method of Limited aesthetics. Also, in order to understand the changes of representation method, works of existed school of animation were employed for comparison. In that sense, it is deserved to be recognized one of modern art genre, shaking off the infamy of inferior culture. The findings show that from initial period up to now, Annecy-awarded works have consistently sought surrealism strongly colored with minimulism in representing characters. This tendency has been developed by combining minimulism (emphasizing the elements that are to be communicated) with representation technique of cartoon animation. Its tendency still continues unabated. Cartoon animation has capability of encapsulating dream and hope that is difficult to be represented in an artistic way by employing the representation method of surrealism. Cartoon animation, I hope, is appreciated as one of art genre that efficiently weaves art, technology and philosophy in one film and will still deliver fun and enjoyment to the people watching it. |
